Herald provides around 20 layout options for your posts listings as well as several more layouts for “featured” (stylish) display.
To manage options for each of classic layouts go to Theme Options -> Main Layouts while featured layouts can be managed in Theme Options -> Featured Layouts.
Each of the layouts has very similar display options like choosing whether you want to display category link, metadata, post excerpt, etc… Below is an example of Layout B settings.
Choosing a layout
On all archive pages as well as in modules (described later), you will find the option to choose one of the layouts.
Combining layouts (using “starter” layout)
One of the cool features is that you can combine two layouts on the same template/module using so-called “starter” layout. This way you can create a good visual hierarchy for your articles. In the example below, a category displays 10 posts on the page. All posts are displayed in Layout B1, except first post (starter posts) which is displayed in Layout A1.
