Recommended plugins

Knowledge Guru Theme comes with several plugins that will extend the theme functionality. They are not required, but we warmly recommend using them to make the most of the theme features.

All the plugins are hosted on the official WordPress repository, which means they are 100% free, and you can use them in any other theme. Go to Appearance -> Knowledge Guru Plugins to install and activate recommended plugins with a single click.

Kirki Framework Toolkit

This is the only required plugin as it activates the entire theme options customizer panel. It is highly recommended to use it to be able to manage all of the theme settings.

Knowledge Base Blocks

Collection of WordPress blocks specially built for Knowledge Guru Theme. This plugin displays posts and categories content from Knowledge Guru Custom Post Type.

Knowledge Base Post Type

Quick Answers – WordPress Ajax Search

This plugin is extending WordPress Search functionality. When you activate this plugin and search for something, results are loaded instantly via Ajax. This plugin also registers searches without results (failed searches), so site admins can know what users are searching for and improve documentation.

WP Forms

This plugin is one of the most popular and easiest to use WordPress contact plugins. You can use it to create simple or complex contact forms with many powerful settings and features.

Envato Market

The Envato (ThemeForest) development team has created this plugin, and its main purpose is to connect your website with your ThemeForest profile. Once you go through the authorization process, you will update our theme with a single click with every new version release.

Force regenerate thumbnails

This plugin will help you a lot when you switch to a new WordPress theme on a website that already has some images uploaded. It is commonly used when you switch themes. You need to run this plugin once, and it will (re)generate all your uploaded image sizes to match your new theme layout. That way, your theme will use proper and optimized image sizes and will improve website performance significantly.

With this plugin, you can automatically┬ádisplay your post dates in “time ago” format like 1 hour ago, 2 weeks ago, etc…

Other plugins

Other plugins’ features and functionality are described in more detail in this documentation’s Shortcodes and Widgets sections.
